The Twisted Wheel Club in Manchester became famous for being the birth place of what became known as Northern Soul - to the clubbers of the time just plain Soul.

The Twisted Wheel entrance, Brazennose Street

From 1963 to 1965 it was located just off Albert Square in Brazennose Street. From 1966 until 1972 it was located in Whitworth Street opposite the Headquarters of the Manchester Fire Brigade.
