Ellie Greenwich

I Want You To Be My Baby - 1968

Ellie Greenwich was a white soul singer and song writer. Working at the The Brill Building she wrote innumerable numbers of songs for and with Lieber and Stoller, (RED BIRD) and for Phil Spector. The list of the tracks she wrote is simply amazing. One of her  best known is River Deep Mountain High.

Her original of I Want You To Be My Baby was played at the Blue Note and the Billie Davis version was played at the Brazennose Street Twisted Wheel.
