The 'Spoon' lived for a time in Manchester, UK. He seemed to be always  playing at Mr Smiths Club - often singing "Whiskey Drinking Woman" which was funny really as the drinks were so expensive lots of women brought small bottles of, you've guessed it, whiskey hidden in their handbags.
