The Moody Blues had a Number 2 hit in the UK with a
cover version of Bessie Bank's Go Now. They appeared live at the Brazennose Street
Twisted Wheel in Manchester the week that this track was released
(November, 1964). The support band was a group called
The Others who were never heard of again. Ironically,
Go Now made the top ten in the US, even though Bessie Banks had
released the better version prior to this.
Denny Laine gave an excellent performance and the band was a soul and blues based outfit before they caught the psychedelic bug and became progressive.
