It's A Crying Shame - (1968)
Trespassin' - (1968)
The
Ohio Players became a top 70's Funk band, but started out in 1959 as the Ohio
Untouchables.
A relative of the band started Lupine Records (based in
Detroit) and got the band to
back the Falcons for
I Found a Love. as
a result the Ohio Untouchables first 45 was
Love Is Amazing.
1967 saw them re-christened as The Ohio Players. In
1969 they released 'Here Today, Gone Tomorrow' for Capitol Records.
In the 1970s they moved into 'Funk' after being
influenced by
Sly Stone's style (and dress sense
too judging from the LP cover).
