This came along at about the same time as Tommy Neal's Going To A Happening  and was often played back to back at the Blue Note(in fact everything was played back to back at the Blue Note and The Wheel - no one had much time for a DJ's ego in those days; so the DJ's mostly kept fairly quiet apart from announcing a few artists and record titles).



'Polk Salad Annie: the cops have got yer' Granny!' Tony Joe White is  a white singer who sounded a lot like Elvis and was part Cherokee Indian. His songs have some excellent lyrics - Groupie Girl: 'you're gettin' old before your time'.
