The
lead singer of The Toys was Barbara Harris. She hung out with the other group members at the
Brill Building looking for jobs as backing singers.
It was Bob Crew who helped them with an adaptation of Johann
Sebastian Bach's Minuet in G written and produced by Linzer and Randell.
iN 1965 it went to number 2 in the USA pop chart and to 5 in the UK top Ten.
Over a million copies were sold. A Lover's Concerto was an
infectious little song, due no doubt to its illustrious pedigree - it still goes
around in my head to this day!
