Soul Music has impacted the world on almost every level. Soul tracks commonly feature in television adverts, and movies and as part of branding/marketing campaigns for many products often without the original source of the track being known.

In this section we look at the TV ads sampling from the all time greats.

KFC: Do I Love You

Frank Wilson - 'Do I Love You' was never released by Motown in the 1960, However he did make Four vinyl pressings of the record before becoming a Tamla Motown House writer arranger. The Song was release by Motowns White Female singer: Chris Clarke, but made no impression on the charts but of course was popular in the UK on the Northern Soul Scene.
Then one 45 from the originals that Frank recorded was found in the motown vaults, it changed hands upto today when it has reached the many tens of thousands of pounds in value. However the main thing is the music and this song and its arrangement is a supberb example of Motown at its very best. The song is hugely popular on the curent Northen Soul Scene.

KFC: Marvelettes

Somebody at KFC likes Soul Music here is one that got banned... the music is by the Marvelettes (Motown) the end of the ad proudly states that KFC are into Soul Music!

Ford Ad: Speaking of Happiness

This song went high into the UK Pop chart in 1997

British Gas: Rescue Me

British  Gas TV Ad is using FONTELLA BASS's 1965 record " RESCUE ME" as thier theme for gas repairs.

A Man's World: Coco Mademoiselle

This ad has Joss Stone singing; 'Its A Mans Mans World' originaly by James Brown in the early 60's, when it was a billboard chart hit in the USA, and became a Mod anthem for the Soul fans in the UK.
It was such a sucess Stateside that it  initiated a copy that was also sucesul in the USA - 'Its A Mans Womans World' by Big Maybelle.

It is now successfully having a huge impact on the marketing campaign for Coco Channel and their Coco Mademoiselle Perfume, featuring Keira Knightley.
